The Royer R-10: A Versatile Passive Mono Ribbon Microphone
The Royer R-10 is a high-quality passive mono ribbon microphone crafted for both studio and live stage applications. Hand-built in our Burbank, California factory, the R-10 embodies the signature sound and performance that define all-Royer excellence, with an impressive SPL handling capability of up to 160 dB @ 1 kHz. Its compact size and flexible mounting system allow for unobtrusive positioning.
Royer’s Patented Offset Ribbon Technology
The R-10 features Royer's patented offset-ribbon design, positioning the ribbon element toward the front for high SPL handling on the front side and a brighter response when recording lower SPL sound sources on the backside (3 feet or closer; phase-reversed position).

- 2.5-micron aluminum ribbon element with patented direct-corrugation process
- 3-layer windscreen system and internally shock-mounted ribbon transducer for protection
- Hum-bucking wiring of the ribbon transducer to reject electromagnetically induced noise
